Become Privacy Policy
This policy explains what the Become app for iPhone does with your information. Become is made by J Roberto Goulart Filho Tecnologia Ltda ("JRG Tecnologia", "we"), CNPJ 62.592.453/0001-01, Av. The short version
- There are no accounts. What you write in Become stays on your iPhone.
- If you choose letters written with AI, only what a letter needs is sent to write it. It is never stored by us, sold, or used for ads.
- Analytics record which screens and steps you use, never what you write, under an anonymous ID.
- You can delete everything from the app at any time.
What stays on your iPhone
Your Goal, your Picture, the people you mention, your Letters, Replies, Proof and photos are stored only on your iPhone. They are included in your iCloud device backup if you have backups turned on, which Apple handles under its own privacy policy. We do not have a copy.
Letters written with AI
If you choose letters written with AI, what a letter needs is sent to our letter service and to Anthropic's Claude to write it: your first name, your Goal, the details you gave in the app, and your last few replies and signs. When you tap Listen, the letter's text may also be sent to a voice service to read it aloud. This information is used only to write or read your letters. We do not store it, sell it, or use it for advertising. You can switch to pre-written letters at any time in the You tab, and then nothing you write leaves your iPhone for this purpose.
Usage analytics
To understand which parts of Become help and which don't, the app sends usage events (for example, which screens and steps you open) to PostHog under an anonymous ID. These events never include what you write. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not use advertising identifiers.
Subscriptions
Purchases are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to check whether your subscription is active, under the same anonymous ID. We never see your payment details.
Who receives data
- Anthropic, to write letters, only if you choose letters written with AI.
- A voice provider, to read a letter aloud, only when you tap Listen.
- PostHog, for anonymous usage analytics.
- RevenueCat and Apple, for subscriptions.
These providers process data on our behalf and may do so outside your country, including in the United States. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising.
Deleting your data
Open the You tab and tap Delete all data to erase everything Become stored on your iPhone. Earlier iCloud backups keep their copy until they are replaced. Deleting the app also removes its data from your iPhone. To ask about anonymous analytics or subscription records linked to your device, email us.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under Brazil's LGPD and US state privacy laws, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal information, and to object to some processing. Because Become has no accounts, most of your data is only on your device and in your control. For any request, email support@jrgtecnologia.com and we will answer.
Children
Become is meant for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page, and tell you in the app when the change is significant.
